Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) is an outpatient facility, which means, patients leave the same day they have their procedures.

For many patients new to surgery, an ASC or “ambulatory surgery center” can sound alarming. However, rest assured the “ambulatory” in ASC is industry wording. Unlike most hospital surgeries, where patients are there for more than a day following surgery, an ASC is an outpatient facility, meaning patients leave the same day they have surgery.

City Surgery Center specializes in minimally invasive procedures (pain management, orthopedics, neurology, and more). Physicians bring their patients here for surgery and their patients are discharged the very same day following their procedure(s).

Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs) are independent healthcare facilities which perform outpatient surgery. The benefits of opting for an ASC include reduced cost for patients, improved sanitation, and convenient scheduling. Once the procedure is complete, patients recover in the comfort of their own homes rather than in a hospital bed.

Benefits of ASCs:
  • Patients are discharged home the same day as their surgery.
  • Patients are afforded a more comfortable environment than a hospital.
  • Easier access for patients and their families.
  • Reduced risk of infections compared to hospitals.
  • Cost-effective alternative to inpatient care. Patients pay approximately 50% less than the same procedure in a hospital setting.
